Midweek racing from Sandown Lakeside and Warwick Farm and we’ve got a horse to follow from each meeting.
Sandown Lakeside Race 7 – The Open
Looks the obvious horse on the up, notching his fourth win from five starts this campaign, the only miss coming in a very good benchmark 84 at Caulfield when fourth to the unbeaten Baraqiel. He missed the start here which is unusual for him and showed good versatility to chase and still win comfortably, cracking the 100 mark for the first time on the R&S scale. He can step back up to Saturday grade now and win.
Warwick Farm Race 1 – Tarpaulin
Strong win by this two-year-old who has raced against some of the best of his generation, finding bad luck on debut behind Straight Charge before resuming with a solid second at this track. He's gone right on with it here, easily accounting for a strong maiden field which included Trunk, who had form around the smart Stay Focused last time in. Tarpaulin has improved his rating nicely here and looks poised to go on with it.
