Fillies are expected to flock to Rosehill Gardens this Saturday, 17 November for the venue's second biggest day of the year, the very unique Styletread Girls Day Out.
One of the highlights will be a special performance from Australia's number one male revue show - The Sydney Hotshots, an exclusive visit and photo opportunity with the stars of the 2013 NSW Firefighters calendar, the Emeri Pamper Lounge, mini massages, tarot card reading, and a sideshow alley featuring Dunk the Hunk and many more attractions. Plus, a DJ will keep the party going all day long.
Also on site will be the fashionable Styletread Kiosk - an opportunity for ladies to shop up a storm and have their orders delivered to the track the same afternoon. The day's official partners – Australia's leading online shoe retailer, StyleTread – is offering a $20 discount plus free delivery for all purchases made at the track.
On the course, there are eight horse races on the program; however, the most hotly contested race of the day is sure to be the NSW Firefighters vs Lifesavers sprint race. Smart judges have suggested the Firefighters have been flying in trackwork and are favoured to prevail over the Lifesavers who do prefer a wet track. The firies will also be signing autographs and selling their calendar with all proceeds going to the Burns Unit at The Children's Hospital Westmead.
The day's racing highlights include the Styletread.com.au Handicap. Eleven open class gallopers will face the starter including eight-year-old Welkom Gold (Kathy O'Hara). The Darren Smith-trained gelding has opened at $7 on TAB fixed odds and is looking for back-to-back wins when he lines up in the 1200m sprint. Uate (Tommy Berry) is the current $4.20 favourite with TAB in an open market.
Interest also centers around the third race on the card, the Hollywood Fashion Secrets Handicap over 1300m. Peter Snowden-trained Sessions (Peter Robl) is expected to be the short-priced favourite on course when he takes his place in the field of six. The son of Lonhro will be looking to maintain his unblemished record, but will face strong competition from the Chris Waller-trained Catkins. Shawn Guymer will take the ride on the three-year-old Catkins who will go start as the top weight (59.5kg).
The first race gets underway at 1.10pm and gates open to the public at 11.00am. The track is currently sitting at a Good 3 rating and with only isolated showers expected toward the end of the week, ATC General Manager Racecourses Lindsay Murphy is expecting no change to that rating come Saturday.
