The comeback of crack Rick Worthington sprinter Whitefriars continued on Thursday morning when the Australia Stakes winner won a second straight trial at Warwick Farm.
Whitefriars beat home talented Joseph Pride galloper Gasquet by 2 ½ lengths with Gary Portelli's Shady Favour a further two lengths back in third spot.
Last year's Villiers Stakes [1600m] winner Monton ran on for fourth.
Worthington is eyeing a summer campaign for his seven-year-old but is yet to draw up any concrete plans and will likely trial the horse for a third time before a return to the races.
He has hinted however that a trip back to Melbourne could be on the cards.
