Star Thoroughbreds will look to bolster their assault on two-year-old feature races this season when She's Bella debuts at Warwick Farm on Wednesday.
She's Bella is the anticipated favourite in Wednesday's 2YO Maiden Plate (1000m) after the fillies lone public outing prior to her debut yielded a 3.5 length trial win at the track over 800m on November 13.
Connections are bullish about She's Bella's chances on debut and are already looking towards feature races with the daughter of Sebring.
“She has drawn ideally on Wednesday in a small field and I would imagine she should take some catching,” Star Thoroughbreds Director Denise Martin said.
“She is a beautiful filly who is owned by a majority of the girls who were connected to the original owners of Sebring.
“It is an all girl syndicate so they are very much eyeing off the Magic Millions because of the half million dollar bonus.”
She's Bella can build upon the blossoming stallion record of Sebring who with his first crop has already sired two winners from six just individual runners.
Sebring remains one of Star Thoroughbreds pin up horses with the dual Group 1 winner coming within a nose of the 2YO Triple Crown in 2008.
Denise Martin wasted no time in supporting Sebring at stud and believes it won't be long until Star Thoroughbreds reap the rewards.
“I think the Sebring progeny are wonderful,” Martin said.
“We only have a handful but he is doing a remarkable job.
“We always thought he would be magnificent at stud and so far he is delivering the goods and doing a great job.”
A strong performance on debut this Wednesday will further bolster the 2YO team of Star Thoroughbreds with Whittington and Certitude claiming metropolitan wins at their respective debuts.
She's Bella looms as a great chance on debut while Northern Meteor colt Mr Jackman is also showing encouraging signs at the trials.
“On exposed form there are four very talented two-year-olds,” Martin said.
“The two fillies, Certitude and She's Bella and the two colts, Whittington and Mr Jackman.
“The Breeders' Plate winner [Whittington] has returned in wonderful condition and he is about a fortnight to three weeks away from a barrier trial. The other colt Mr Jackman is a very smart colt as well and he is about the same time frame away from a trial.”
While the two-year-olds are prepared for tilts at lucrative juvenile races next year, reliable gallopers syndicated by Martin in the form of Kinnersley and Charing Cross are working into their summer campaigns nicely.
A last start winner of the Goulburn Cup, Kinnersley will look to become a dual stakes winner in his next outing.
“Kinnersley will most likely go to the Villiers and then we may take Kinnersley and one of the two-year-olds to Doomben as we did last year for a stakes double,” Martin said.
“The BJ McLachlan for the two-year-old and Kinnersley for the Bernborough.
“Kinnersley would then go on to the Stayers Cup on Magic Millions Day.”
Martin believes multiple city winner Charing Cross is ready to improve further third up rising in distance when the gelding contests Saturday's Festival Stakes (1500m).
The Fastnet Rock gelding fought right to the line last start with a 60kg impost when recording a respectable fifth at Rosehill.
“His work since his last run has been excellent and I believe he can definitely fight out the finish,” Martin said.
