Tuesday Trackwork - Summary with Chris Scholtz

3 minute read

Chris Scholtz reviews the news and stable reports from Randwick trackwork on Tuesday September 1.

Trainers and jockeys were focused on their runners in the feature races at Randwick on Saturday with Gai Waterhouse especially pleased with the work of her stars Pornichet, English, Speak Fondly and Bohemian Lily.

# John Sargent’s Oaks winner Gust Of Wind is off to Melbourne for her next race while Ron Quinton has ruled out a Golden Rose start for Let’s Make It Rain and has sent the three-year-old for a spell.

# Anthony Cummings has also been forced to spell Spy Decoder due to a tendon strain suffered when he resumed at Randwick last month.

# Kerrin McEvoy will forfeit the ride on Peter and Paul Snowden’s top class mare Bounding when she has her next start in Sydney on September 12 due to commitments at the Flemington meeting on the same day where he will be riding Hi World in the G1 Makybe Diva Stakes.

# Blake Shinn and Kerrin McEvoy will ride the Gai Waterhouse runners The Offer and Café Society in Friday’s Wyong Gold Cup. Other Wyong Cup bookings include Tye Angland for Orbec, Jason Collet for Disclaimer and Tim Clark for Oriental Lady.

# Blake Shinn will ride Kirramosa if she starts in Friday’s Mona Lisa Stakes at Wyong. John Sargent is weighing up whether he reserves the mare for an easier race at Randwick on Saturday.

# Classy mares Arabian Gold and Gypsy Diamond will kick off their spring campaigns in Saturday’s Tramway Stakes at Randwick. Bohemian Lily also resumes in a BM85 event.

# Talented filly Tempt Me Not is unlikely to start in Saturday’s Furious Stakes at Randwick as her owners Gooree Stud do not want her to race against their other top filly Speak Fondly in that event.
