And because of that we could have some weird style and even weirder team selections. Will one side bother with a traditional ruckman this week?
Geelong has really found life difficult. They've hit some injury hurdles. But overall the side has struggled and losing at home is a good representation of that.
Carlton showed them how to hit the scoreboard and all bar maybe 8 minutes in the second quarter, it was one way traffic.
The midfield that won a GF just 18 months ago looks a pale imitation. And Cameron kicking 3 needs to be doubled.
While Essendon don't have quite the same chutzpah as the Blues, they still sit 3rd and could easily make the second last week of the Finals.
Hardly overwhelming against an Eagles side that tried hard, you felt at home that they would always have enough in hand.

That could very much be the case again. Even though Geelong can pose more of a test, who is to say they aren't realistically a Finals side.
