NORTH MELBOURNE v WESTERN BULLDOGS
Saturday 29 June @ Marvel Stadium
A fascinating match up here with sides at far differing stages of development, yet having so many watchable players.
North may have lost their last couple coming off their first win in a long while but reality is their positioning in people's thoughts has actually grown.
They should have beaten Collingwood for several reasons and could have beaten Melbourne with more luck.
Hard not to like the look of Wardlaw and Sheezel around Davies-Uniacke with Xerri and Comben holding key positions.
They just need some more polish which comes with experience and they face a side who showed plenty of it when thrashing the Dockers.
The Bulldogs have been a tad inconsistent but nailing 23 goals will send you to the bye in a nice headspace. Maybe they'd have loved to roll around again.
Hard not to see Bontempelli (assuming he plays) taking his side on his back in that type of form but he needs help. Is there enough of it?
Match | North Melbourne | Western Bulldogs | Ground |
Last time they met | 13.6 [84] | 15.15 [105] | Marvel Stadium |
Last 10 matches | 2 wins | 8 wins
Notes | Bulldogs won the last 5 by an average of 59 points
In those 10 games only once have the Dogs not scored more than 86 points |
Those big forwards from the Dogs will make life tough for North. If the Kanga midfield stays competitive it won't get down there as often. But should still be well enough.
Match Selection: Western Bulldogs by 22 points
