FREMANTLE v ESSENDON

Saturday 24 June @ Optus Stadium

An interesting game now becomes this clash in Perth as a winner from a week ago meets a loser from last week but at home. So many conflicts there.

The Dockers will be so disappointed with what happened in Sydney. Not that you lose because that can occur. It was the manner of it.

No goals in the opening quarter and 5 by the end of the game, they simply gave themselves no chance. GWS kicked 4 in every quarter showing how bad things were.

Serong and Brayshaw were clearly their best contributors. They were missing Darcy in the middle big time. Luke Jackson couldn't do it all himself.

Essendon have found their winning form after playing well without getting the 4 points previous to that. While those games were only against Richmond, West Coast, North Melbourne and Carlton, it will have engendered confidence.

The good news is that it has been more their youngsters taking control. They have had many picks to get that bounty but finally it could be working and that elusive finals appearance/win is possible.

Perhaps the slightest query is that it will be their second trip to Perth in a month but that week off does help.

Fremantle has a terrible record recently against the Bombers. Since 2017, they have only won 2 of 8 games but only one of those came in Perth.

Have to trust Essendon have the ability and desire to win and justifying their spot. It will be an early onslaught from the Dockers you'd think in response to last week.

The ruck changes to both sides are big though and swing things Freo's way but it will be tight.

Match Selection: Fremantle by 4 points

Suggested Bets: Fremantle to lead Quarter Time @ $1.80
