Melbourne beat Roosters to reach NRL grand final

3 minute read

Melbourne have qualified for their first NRL grand final since 2020 after beating the Sydney Roosters 48-18 at AAMI Park.

Melbourne are sweating on Nelson Asofa-Solomona's availability for the NRL grand final after their star prop was sin-binned for a high tackle in their 48-18 win over Sydney Roosters.

In a dominant preliminary final performance, Ryan Papenhuyzen and Jahrome Hughes blew the Roosters away at AAMI Park on Friday night to book the Storm's first appearance in a title decider since 2020.

After they led 22-6 at the break, Melbourne were forced to withstand a brief Roosters comeback early in the second half before pulling away.
