CAULFIELD

Race 2: (9) FREEDOM MARCH  – Beautifully bred filly by Flying Spur out of a Zabeel mare. Her mother was a 3/4 sister to Activation so 2000m should be perfect. She was beaten under 2L in the Gloaming Stks by boys from which that winner Predatory Pricer took his form to a Spring Champion Stks placing. Limit weight a bonus.

RACE 3: ( 9) HEART OF DREAMS  - No luck when getting home hard for excellent second to Tindal at Flemington. Meets that horse 2.5 kg better and has the home track advantage from good gate.

Race 7: (7) MUSKET  – Well placed here 2kg over the minimum. Looks like 2000m third up will be his go and he is weighted in the same range as recent Coongy winners. Had to sustain too long a run in the Epsom and while his profile through his famous sister has outweighed performance to date, this is his time to shine. Inside draw no drama as he's taken inside runs before.

Race 9: (11) RED ELEMENT  – Given five weeks off after being outpointed at WFA in the G1 Manikato, David Hayes' 4yo entire is suited by the conditions of the race and the significant 6kg weight drop. Should race forward, just behind the sheer speed of this race and be hard to hold out.

EAGLE FARM

Race 3 (4) CHAKVETADZE  - Made it 2 from 2 when strolling home at Toowoomba in very fast time last start, earning her shot at city company. Drawn ideally, has no weight and looks certain to measure up.

Race 7: (7) FLUSHING MEADOWS  – Has an excellent record fresh. Gerald Ryan has sent this son of Dyslexia up to Brisbane on the back of two recent Rosehill trials. He handles all types of going and gets the limit weight here. Last campaign was running well at this 1000m trip then had no luck in the June Stakes. Worthy of close consideration.

Race 8: (1) WOODY 'N' BUZZ – Ran wide and lost a plate first up at Doomben. Last prep was beaten first up then won the Gunsynd Quality which has been quite a good form reference in recent years. Simplest came out of that race to win 6 in a row. Having in form Glen Colless is a blessing.

RANDWICK

RACE 1 No 7 HORIZONS  (Gai Waterhouse): Started favourite in the Gimcrack Stakes after being the star of the early 2YO trials and her effort was first class after starting from a difficult gate. Subsequent impressive Sydney and Melbourne winners finished behind her and she should prove a match for the colts here with 2kg advantage under set weight conditions.

RACE 5 No 11 VISA LISA  (Kris Lees): Promising Redoute's Choice filly who was unlucky not have won last time on the Kensington track over 1100m. She does rise in grade but suspect she holds considerable scope for improvement and will appreciate the extra 100m.

RACE 7 No 5 FAST BULLET  (Jules De Smet): Yet to see the best of him in two runs since resuming but his efforts have been sound in good company. This race is more suitable as he is looking for step up to 1400m and will carry under the limit after talented apprentice takes his 3kg claim.

MORPHETTVILLE

RACE 2: (5) TO A FAULT  : Staying type fitter for three runs from a spell. Finally gets to a suitable trip and the small field will suit, as he'll roll forward and take catching. A few of these will be supported and may be over the odds.

RACE 7: (4) AMICI FOREVER  : Just didn't come up last time in, but turned in an eye-catching fourth fresh-up this campaign. Claim a bonus and should be hard to hold out on big open home track.
