Melbourne Cup hopeful Surprise Baby pleased connections as he underwent his final piece of work before Tuesday's race.
Craig Williams flew up to Horsham to ride the six-year-old, where the Paul Preusker-trained stayer sat behind two of his stablemates before comfortably working past them.
"He was very fresh in the yard when I went to get on him, but once he got out on the track he started to cool down, relax and get into a nice rhythm," Williams said.
