3 minute read

Essendon will be out to cement their top four spot when they take on Geelong at the MCG on Saturday night.

The Bombers sit in third spot on the ladder, four points ahead of Fremantle in fifth, and are priced at 2.75 to finish in the top four this season.

Geelong are down in seventh spot and are in danger of slipping out of the eight following a poor run of form, but a clash against a big rival presents a great opportunity to get back on track.

Meanwhile, fourth-place Collingwood face a tricky trip to the Gold Coast to take on a Suns side that are unbeaten on their home deck.

Collingwood are priced at 6.00 to win the 2024 grand final and defend the premiership they won last season. A win over the Gold Coast would keep them on track.

To wrap up the action on Saturday, North Melbourne entertain the Western Bulldogs, while Greater Western Sydney travel to take on Adelaide.

Cats have sign over Bombers

. What: Geelong v Essendon
. Where: MCG, Melbourne
. When: 19:30 (AEST), Saturday 29th June 2024
. How to watch: Kayo, Foxtel, Channel 7
. Odds: Geelong 2.02, Essendon 1.80

Geelong may be a team on the slide, but they have a great record against Essendon and need to keep it going at the MCG.

The Cats have beaten the Bombers in each of the last six meetings by an average of 52 points, but on current form, they have work to do.

They have won just one game out of the last seven and suffered a 63-point loss against Carlton in their last outing.

Chris Scott's men came out on top by 12 points when the two sides met in round 1, and can be backed at 6.00 to win this latest clash by 1-12 points.

Essendon bounced back from two defeats to beat West Coast last weekend, and will be keen to make it back-to-back wins.

Kyle Langford has booted 30 goals for Essendon this season and can be backed at 11.00 to kick the first of the game on Saturday.

Geelong ace Jeremy Cameron can be backed at 8.50 to do the same.

Kangaroos continue to improve

. What: North Melbourne v Western Bulldogs
. Where: Marvel Stadium, Melbourne
. When: 13:45 (AEST), Saturday 29th June 2024
. How to watch: Kayo, Foxtel
. Odds: North Melbourne 6.50, Western Bulldogs 1.11

North Melbourne may have lost both games since picking up their first win of the season against West Coast, but that does not tell the whole story.

There was just three points in it against Melbourne last week, while Collingwood edged them out by one point.

These performances should give them confidence and they can be backed at 13.00 to win by 1-12 points.

The Bulldogs return after the bye and should also be on a high after beating Fremantle by 67 points before it.

Rhylee West booted four goals in that game and is 15.00 to kick the first against the Kangas.

Home comforts boost Suns

. What: Gold Coast v Collingwood
. Where: People First Stadium, Gold Coast
. When: 16:35 (AEST), Saturday 29th June 2024
. How to watch: Kayo, Foxtel
. Odds: Gold Coast 2.00, Collingwood 1.82

Gold Coast return to home soil, where they have won all seven games so far this season.

They have also lost seven away from home, including last weekend's 20-point loss at Fremantle.

The Suns will however be boosted by the return of star forward Ben King, who has booted 38 goals this season.

King is 9.50 to mark his return from a knee niggle by booting the first goal of the game.

Collingwood have a good record on the Gold Coast, winning the last five games, and are priced at 6.00 to win by 1-12 points.

Crows on the slide

. What: Adelaide v Greater Western Sydney
. Where: Adelaide Oval, Adelaide
. When: 19:30 (AEST), Saturday 29th June 2024
. How to watch: Kayo, Foxtel
. Odds: Adelaide 2.02, Greater Western Sydney 1.80

Adelaide have lost the last three games on the spin to leave their top-eight hopes dangling by a thread.

They are in desperate need of a win and are priced at 5.50 to beat GWS by 1-12 points.

The Giants are also desperate for a win to keep their top-four hopes alive. They are on a streak of win one, lose one, and following a defeat to Sydney last weekend, are due a victory.

Jesse Hogan has 34 goals this season and is 9.00 to kick the first on Saturday.
