NRL: Sea Eagles out for Roosters double

3 minute read

Fourth takes on fifth in the NRL on Saturday night as the Sydney Roosters and Manly Sea Eagles clash in a massive game at Allianz Stadium.

Just one point separates the two sides and with a spot in the top four up for grabs, the stakes are high to say the least.

The Roosters are 1.20 to make the top four, while the Sea Eagles are a longer price at 3.00.

However if the Sea Eagles can beat the Roosters, something they have already done this season, they will leapfrog their big rivals. And with the games fast running out, it would be a big move.

Sydney Roosters head into the game on the back of a defeat, while Manly have some momentum following three wins on the spin.

The ladder still remains very tight, and just two points separate the Roosters in fourth and the Dragons down in ninth.

Every game is crucial and the clash between the Roosters and Sea Eagles could be special.

Roosters look to bounce back

The Roosters were going well after winning four games on the bounce before Melbourne Storm stopped them in their tracks last weekend.

Melbourne won 24-8 at AAMI Park and the Roosters will be desperate to bounce back on home soil against the Sea Eagles.

The Roosters have done well at Allianz this season and have won the last three games at the venue in convincing fashion.

Indeed they have piled on a total of 108 points in those three games, conceding just 26, so can head into the game full of confidence.

It was tighter the last time these two sides met at Allianz as the Roosters ran out 26-16 winners last season.

We could be in for another close one on Saturday night and the Roosters are 3.40 to win by 1-12 points.

The Bondi outfit have named an extremely strong side for the clash and winger Dominic Young is sure to be a huge threat on the wing.

Young has 14 tries in 14 appearances this season and is priced at 5.00 to grab the first try of the game.

Sea Eagles flying high

Manly have won the last two games with relative ease when smashing both the Knights and Titans at 4 Pines Park.

They will face a tougher test against the Roosters, but showed they have the stomach for the fight when beating the Cowboys on their own patch in Round 18.

The Sea Eagles have scored a combined 82 points in the last two games and with star fullback Tom Trbojevic back in the side, they are peaking at the right time.

Trbojevic can be backed at 11.00 to score the first try of the game or 2.20 to grab one at anytime.

Manly have already beaten the Roosters this season. That came back in Round 2 when they ran out 21-14 winners at 4 Pines Park.

It would be a great time to pull off the season double, and they can be backed at 4.50 to win by 1-12 points.
