3 minute read

Geelong need to get their season back on track when they face Richmond at GMHBA Stadium on Saturday night.

The Cats got the season off to an electric start when winning the opening seven games, but the wheels have since come off after losing the last four.

They are now in danger of slipping out of the top eight, and nothing other than four points against the Tigers will do.

There are also two other games to look forward to on Saturday with Hawthorn and Adelaide clashing at the MCG, while St Kilda travel to Perth to take on West Coast.

Cats need to snap losing streak

. What: Geelong v Richmond
. Where: GMHBA Stadium, Geelong
. When: 19:30 (AEST), Saturday 1st June 2024
. How to watch: Kayo, Foxtel, Channel 7
. Odds: Geelong 1.06, Richmond 9.50

Geelong have lost the last four games on the bounce, but have a great chance to get back to winning ways against the struggling Tigers.

Apart from a 64-point drubbing against the Gold Coast, the defeats have been by narrow margins, but coach Chris Scott will take little consolation out of that.

The home form is also a concern for Scott, as two of the defeats have been at GMHBA Stadium, including a four-point loss against GWS last week.

Richmond have won just one game all season, and has not won at GMHBA Stadium in the last 18 years.

They are also struggling with injuries and Geelong can be backed at 4.25 to bounce back in style and win by 73+ points.

Tyson Stengle has caught the eye this season when kicking 23 goals. Averaging a touch over two goals a game, the forward can be backed at 9.50 to kick the first of the game.

Hawks continue to fly

. What: Hawthorn v Adelaide
. Where: MCG, Melbourne
. When: 13:45 (AEST), Saturday 1st June 2024
. How to watch: Kayo, Foxtel
. Odds: Hawthorn 2.02, Adelaide 1.80

Hawthorn's recent revival continued last week as they beat Brisbane by 25 points, and they will be out pick up their fourth win in five games.

Their form has not been great at the MCG, winning just two out of the last 13 games at the iconic venue, however it is not as bad as Adelaide's record.

The Crows have lost the last nine games there, including a narrow four-point loss to Collingwood two weeks ago.

Adelaide smashed West Coast by 99 points last week and are priced at 6.00 to beat the Hawks by 1-12 points in another tight game.

Eagles glad to have home comforts

. What: West Coast v St Kilda
. Where: Optus Stadium, Perth
. When: 19:40 (AEST), Saturday 1st June 2024
. How to watch: Kayo, Foxtel, Channel 7
. Odds: West Coast 1.78, St Kilda 2.05

West Coast have shown signs of progress this season, but bad habits came back to bite them as they lost by 99 points to Adelaide last week.

They will be delighted to be back on home soil at Optus Stadium, where they have won three out of four games so far this season.

The Eagles will fancy their chances of making it four from five against a St Kilda side that have lost four out of the last five games.

West Coast could jump above St Kilda with a win and are 6.00 to get the job done and win by 1-12 points.
