Squad to deliver at Pakenham

The seventh race at Pakenham is a 2200m Benchmark 58 handicap, with Gift Of Oratory expected to jump as favourite.

Trained by Ben, JD & Will Hayes the gelding has placed on two of his last three starts including when narrowly beaten at Mornington in May.

The four-year-old contested a 2460m Benchmark 58 handicap on a good 4 track that day and he has trialled with a win over 1400m at this venue since then.

Jockey Jamie Mott has a wide barrier to negotiate in this contest, however, so preference is for dual course winner STATE SQUAD.

The pick's two wins at this venue both came over this course and distance in July last year.

The second of those victories saw the 7.00 selection come home over a length clear of his rivals in a Benchmark 70 handicap event.

The six-year-old raced from off the pace that day and similar tactics were employed when he raced over 1600m here on his first start this prep.

Jake Noonan's mount recorded a fourth when beaten just over four lengths in a Benchmark 58 handicap last time out and the extra distance here is a positive.

The son of Lucas Cranach has an inside barrier here and he looks capable of registering a second up success.

Nats to salute at Albury

The sixth race of the day at Albury is a competitive looking 1500m Benchmark 58 handicap.

A heavy 8 track is expected, with Donna Scott's Tizso Fab expected to have his supporters having placed twice at this circuit in May.

The second of those efforts saw him lose out by a narrow margin when runner-up in a 1500m Class 2 handicap held on a good 4 surface.

The gelding has since proven that softer conditions are no issue putting a below par seventh at Echuca behind him when runner-up at Corowa a week ago.

The four-year-old lost out by a length when runner-up in a 1400m event held on a soft 6 track on that occasion.

The son of Astern is unproven on the forecast heavy 8 surface, however, so NATS ENOUGH is preferred on this occasion.

Nick Heywood, who is set to ride here, was on board when the pick won by nearly two lengths in a Benchmark 58 handicap at Alburn on his penultimate start.

The 3.80 selection raced over 1500m that day and performed well when half-a-length third in a 1600m Benchmark 82 handicap here subsequently.

The six-year-old has shown a liking for heavy surfaces in the past including when winning on a heavy 10 at Wagga in July last year.

The Wayne Carroll-trained runner has an inside barrier for this event and is taken to record his first win at this track.

Bodgie looks good at Wyong

The sixth race at Wyong is an interesting 1000m Benchmark 64 handicap event set to take place on a heavy 10 surface.

BODGIE demonstrated good form earlier this prep and he is the selection for the Paul Perry team.

The five-year-old won over 1100m when contesting a Benchmark 64 handicap and encountering a heavy 10 surface at this venue three starts back.

The 5.00 gelding got home by a narrow margin that day and followed up with a good fourth in a 1200m Benchmark 72 handicap at Newcastle.

The son of Epaulette raced from the front when finishing in mid-division in a metro Benchmark 78 handicap at Randwick subsequently.

The drop in grade is a positive for the gelding here and he is taken to deliver the sixth win of his career.
