The Bombers slipped to sixth place on the ladder following a defeat against Melbourne last weekend, and need to bounce back.

Such is the compact nature of the ladder, a win over the Crows could take them into the top two, before the rest of their rivals take to the field.

Essendon can be backed at 4.33 to make the top four, but they need to find some consistency if they are to have any chance.

Bombers out to complete double

Essendon are on a run of win one lose one at the moment and they need to start stringing wins together if they are to cement their place in the eight.

After losing by 17 points to Melbourne last week, they are due a win, and will be confident of getting it against the Crows.

The Bombers will also be out to complete the double over Adelaide after beating them earlier in the season.

It was a tight game in Round 6, before Essendon eventually nicked the game played at the Adelaide Oval, by three points.

If it is to be that tight again, Essendon are priced at 6.00 to win by 1-12 points.

Essendon have won the last three games against Adelaide, but the biggest winning margin was 18 points.

Nic Martin caught the eye in the defeat to Melbourne when booting four goals and will look to carry that form into Friday night's game.

He can be backed at 15.00 to kick the first goal of the game, or 1.27 to score at anytime.

Crows playing for pride

With all hope of making the top eight gone, the Crows are left playing for pride and will be keen to finish the season strongly.

They have beaten St Kilda and Greater Western Sydney in the last few weeks but both games were on home soil. Now the aim is to do it on the road.

Adelaide impressed as they beat the Saints by 32 points, with Riley Thilthorpe and Lachlan Sholl both booting a couple of goals.

The latter can be backed at 1.80 to score at anytime on Friday night.

If the Crows are to win it will be tight, and they are priced at 6.00 to win by 1-12 points.
