The Lions, who lost to Collingwood in the 2023 grand final, are back firing on all cylinders following a horror start to the season.

If they keep it up, they are on course to return to the grand final in 2024, and are 3.75 to do just that.

A win against Sydney would be a huge statement, but the Swans are still the hot fancies to win the grand final.

They are sitting pretty at the top of the ladder and are 3.25 to go all the way and win the premiership.

Sunday's clash could end up being a dress rehearsal for the grand final and it has all the ingredients to be an exciting clash.

. What: Brisbane v Sydney
. Where: The Gabba, Brisbane
. When: 13:10 (AEST), Sunday 21st July 2024
. How to watch: Kayo, Foxtel, Channel 7
. Odds: Brisbane 1.78, Sydney 2.05

Lions into top four

Brisbane are the form team in the AFL and after winning the last five games on the spin, have moved into the top four.

The clash against the Swans will be their biggest test yet, but they have already beaten them this season.

It was way back in Round 1 when they won by 25 points, but a lot of water has passed under the bridge since then.

Even so, the Lions are in great form and can be backed at 6.00 to win by 13-24 points once again.

Home advantage could be key, and the Gabba has become a fortress for the Lions once again.

They have won the last five matches at the venue, and Sydney will have to be at their best to get the job done.

Joe Daniher has starred for Brisbane this season when booting 34 goals and he will be key on Sunday afternoon.

The forward can be backed at 11.00 to kick the first goal of the game.

Despite going great guns this season, Sydney are notorious for their slow starts.

With that in mind Brisbane are priced at 2.40 to win the first quarter by 1-18 points.

Swans back on track

Following shock defeats against Fremantle and St Kilda, Sydney returned to winning ways against North Melbourne last week.

They won by a massive 79 points to get their confidence back, but a trip to Brisbane will provide a much sterner test.

Tom Papley and Logan McDonald both booted four goals each against the Kangaroos and are both available at 15.00 to boot the first of the game.

Errol Gulden also starred with a massive 41 disposals in the win.

The midfielder is averaging over 28 a game this season and is available at 2.50 to collect 30+ against the Lions.

Sydney have lost their last three meetings with the Lions so will be determined to turn the tables at the weekend.

They are 6.00 to win by 1-12 points.
