NRL: Bulldogs continue push for top four

3 minute read

Canterbury Bulldogs will look to keep the pressure on the NRL top four when they travel to take on North Queensland Cowboys on Sunday.

The Bulldogs sit in fifth place on the NRL ladder, just two points behind the Roosters in fourth and can be backed at 5.50 to force their way in there.

They face a tough test against a North Queensland Cowboys side who have work to do to make the top eight and play finals.

The same can be said of Manly Sea Eagles, who are one place and one point above the Cowboys in eighth spot.

Manly are 1.14 to make the eight, but a win against Gold Coast Titans on home turf is an absolute must for them.

There is a lot on the line on Sunday with places in the top eight up for grabs, so it should make for an exciting one.

Origin stars back to boost Sea Eagles

. What: Manly Sea Eagles v Gold Coast Titans
. Where: 4 Pines Park, Manly
. When: 16:05 (AEST), Sunday 21st July 2024
. How to watch: Kayo, Foxtel, Channel 9
. Odds: Manly Sea Eagles 1.42, Gold Coast Titans 2.90

Manly have been boosted by the news that both Daly Cherry-Evans and Jake Trbojevic have put their hands up to play following State of Origin.

The Sea Eagles coped well without them as they ran in eight tries against Newcastle last week, but they should be even stronger on their return.

Manly have won four of the last six games against the Titans and can be backed at 2.40 to win this one by 13+ points.

Jason Saab is also in great form after scoring six tries in the last five games and the winger is 6.50 to grab the first of the game.

The Titans head into the game in great form having won the last three on the bounce.

There is also some added spice as former Sea Eagles coach Des Hasler is now in charge of the Titans and will be fired up for his return to 4 Pines Park.

Gold Coast do have a good record at the venue, winning six of their last eight visits there and they can be backed at 4.00 to win another by 1-12 points.

Cowboys need to improve home form

. What: North Queensland Cowboys v Canterbury Bulldogs
. Where: Queensland Country Bank Stadium, Townsville
. When: 18:15 (AEST), Sunday 21st July 2024
. How to watch: Kayo, Foxtel
. Odds: North Queensland Cowboys 1.65, Canterbury Bulldogs 2.25

North Queensland need to find their form at home if they are to force their way into the eight, so the clash with the Bulldogs is massive.

They have managed just three wins at Queensland Country Bank Stadium this season and have won just one in the last five.

The Cowboys need to make it a fortress once again and can be backed at 3.40 to beat the Bulldogs by 1-12 points.

Kyle Feldt will be key to their chances after scoring six tries in the last six games and the winger is 6.00 to score the first try of the game or 1.60 grab one at anytime.

The Bulldogs have been poor away from home this season, winning just one game, however, after winning the last two games by golden point their confidence should be sky-high.

They are priced at 3.60 to win by 1-12 points.
