3 minute read

South Sydney Rabbitohs, led by skipper Cameron Murray, will be targeting a third straight win when they take on Brisbane Broncos on Friday night.

It has been a tough season so far for the bunnies, but they are showing signs of turning things around with wins over the Eels and Titans.

They are six points off the top eight and can be backed at 17.00 to make it. Finals may seem out of reach for now, but they will be keen to keep the wins coming.

The Broncos continue to falter and will be keen to snap a two-game losing streak that has seen them drop to eighth on the ladder.

If they can get everyone fit and playing, there is still the belief that the Broncos can win the premiership in 2024.

They can be backed at 6.00 to win the grand final.

Murray boost for bunnies

The Rabbitohs are starting to show some form following a shocking start to the 2024 NRL campaign and now have the Broncos in their sights.

The bunnies now have two wins on the spin after smashing Gold Coast Titans 46-12 at the weekend, which followed on from the 42-26 win over Parramatta Eels the week before.

Latrell Mitchell was back at something like his best against the Titans and chipped in with an important try.

Mitchell has now scored 48 points in the last four games and can be backed at 11.00 to score the first try of the game, or 2.20 to score at anytime.

Souths have also been handed a massive boost with the news that captain Cameron Murray is set to return from injury.

Murray has been named on the interchange after recovering from a hip issue.

Souths have scored 88 points over the last two games and can be backed at 3.75 to beat the Broncos by 1-12 points.

Walsh still missing for Broncos

The Broncos will once again be missing gun fullback Reece Walsh as they attempt to pick up a win after two defeats on the spin.

Brisbane lost by two points against the Titans before the bye, and then the Sharks beat them by 10 points on their return to action last weekend.

There will be no Walsh, who suffered a concussion in State of Origin and will watch on from the sidelines, but Kotoni Staggs has been passed fit to play.

The centre has shaken off a knee issue picked up against the Sharks and can be backed at 3.20 to grab a try at anytime in the game.

Brisbane have a good record against the Rabbitohs, winning four of the last five games against them.

They won both games in 2023, including a 36-20 at Accor Stadium. Kevin Walters side can be backed at 2.75 to win by 13+ points on this occasion.
