Metropolitan racing returns to the Sunny Coast this weekend.

The Sunshine Coast plays host to a rare stand alone metropolitan meeting this Saturday with the running of the $160,000 Mooloolabah Cup. 

Our best play of the day comes up later in the card with the Tony Gollan-prepared Golden Boom resuming in race nine. 

You'd love to own a stable full of gallopers like this son of Spirit Of Boom who has yet to miss the top-five in 14 career outings including a couple of victories at Listed level. 

We last saw him running a close-up second behind Mornington Glory in the Listed Norman Carlyon at Moonee Valley, with that gelding then coming out to win the Group 1 Moir Stakes the start following. Trust that the Gollan camp has him ready to fire first-up and he could go onto bigger and better things this campaign. 

Our value bet of the day kicks us off in the opener for the babies. Cuddles For Kimmy looks a great place heavy type play around the $9 quote. 

Another offspring of Spirit Of Boom, she gets the booking of a senior jockey in the form of Mark Du Plessis this time around and has race experience over some of these. She should be cherry ripe third time at the races and a strong showing at the succulent odds would not surprise.
