Saturday Betting Report From TAB Sportsbet

Punters were on the mark with several runners landing big bets with Tab Sportsbet on Saturday.

Tinseltown was heavily backed to win the Queensland Cup and didn't let his supporters down.

There was a stack of money for the topweight with the biggest bet being $4,000 @ $4.80.

Also heavily supported was the favourite Persian Star, which was backed in from $4.40 to $2.80.

Gybe was one of the best supported winners at Randwick.

Opening at $5.00, he was crunched in betting with a series of big wagers: $3,000 @ $3.80, $4,000 @ $3.50, $5,000 @ $3.20, $5,000 @ $3.00, $2,000 @ $2.90, $3,000 @ $2.90, $6,500 @ $2.90, $2,000 @ $2.90, $2,000 @ $2.80.

Coup Ay Tee and Whisperossa were the only two punters wanted in the seventh at Randwick, with the former getting the cash.

Both attracted good money with one punter outlaying $3000 @ $5.50 on the winner, while some of the losing bets on Whisperossa included $5,400 @ $3.80 and $4,300 @ $4.00.

Hampden was heavily backed in the final event at Eagle Farm late in betting.

As much as $15 on the tote just minutes prior to the jump, it started well in the market at $4.00.

Some smart money placed via TAB Sportsbet's Fixed Odds department saw Hampden backed in from $7.50 to $4.00 in the closing stages of betting.

Brisbane Race 3: Alvitas $4.60 into $3.50. Successful bets on Alvitas, which won, were $3,000 @ $3.80, $2,000 @ $4.00, $4,000 @ $4.00, $2,500 @ $4.50

Brisbane Race 5: Work The Room $4.60 into $3.50 (unplaced); Hume $12 into $8.00 (third)

Melbourne Race 2: Module $4.60 into $2.40. Successful bets on the winner Module included $10,000 worth of bets at an average of $2.40, $4,000 @ $2.80, $6,000 @ $2.90

Melbourne Race 3: Set And Forget $2.80 into $2.05. Heavily backed favourite but failed to fire. Some of the big bets on it were $7,000 @ $2.30, $2,000 @ $2.30, $4,000 @ $2.05

Melbourne Race 4: Sidecar $7.50 into $3.90 (unplaced)

Melbourne Race 5: Black And Bent beat Swooper with some big bets landed. $4,500 @ $5.00, $4,500 @ $4.80, $4,000 @ $4.80.

Swooper had good support too with one punter outlaying $10,000 @ $1.47 for it to run a place. Black And Bent won, with Swooper finishing second.

Sydney Race 1: Peck $2.70 but drifted out to $3.00. Mikiyama backed in from $3.00 to $2.80 favourite.

Biggest bet was 10,000 @ $3.10 on Peck, which finished second. Mikiyama unplaced.

Sydney Race 2: Matignon $4.60 into $3.30, Pillory $8.00 into $6.00

Sydney Race 3: Hidden Gem $4.20 into $3.00 (won), Delago Star $15 into $8.50 (third), Frozone $4.20 into $3.60 (unplaced)

Sydney Race 5: Mlady Pedrille $7.00 into $4.60 (unplaced), Savannah River $4.60 into $3.10 (unplaced)
