BIG6 pays very healthy dividends

3 minute read

The BIG6 produced six figure results in both the NSW and VIC TAB's this afternoon.

Firstly, on the VIC TAB, the BIG6 was held on races 3-8 at Flemington with the final dividend paying $313,882, with the supplementary (paid on the first five winners) giving those lucky enough to secure it $23,512.90.

In NSW, there was a cross-meeting BIG6 which was held on the final three races from Randwick and Flemington.

The dividend paid a whopping $449,676.30.

Punters were on the mark with several runners in today's thoroughbred action at the major metropolitan tracks.

Tinseltown was heavily backed to win the Queensland Cup and didn't let its supporters down. There was a stack of money for it with the biggest bet being $4,000 @ $4.80. Also heavily supported was the favourite Persian Star, which was backed in from $4.40 to $2.80.

Gybe was one of the best supported runners all day and easily took out race six at Randwick.

Opening at $5.00, he was crunched in betting with a series of big wagers:

$3,000 @ $3.80, $4,000 @ $3.50, $5,000 @ $3.20, $5,000 @ $3.00, $2,000 @ $2.90, $3,000 @ $2.90, $6,500 @ $2.90, $2,000 @ $2.90, $2,000 @ $2.80.

Coup Ay Tee and Whisperossa were the only two punters wanted in the seventh at Randwick, with the former getting the cash.

Both attracted good money with one punter outlaying $3,000 @ $5.50 on the winner, while some of the losing bets on Whisperossa included $5,400 @ $3.80 and $4,300 @ $4.00.

Hampden was heavily backed in the final event at Eagle Farm late in betting.

As much as $15 on the tote just minutes prior to the jump, it started well in the market at $4.00.

Some smart money placed via TAB Sportsbet's Fixed Odds department saw Hampden backed in from $7.50 to $4.00 in the closing stages of betting.
