Punters are betting wide and eating up the value in the Doncaster Mile according to Sportingbet Australia's Michael Sullivan.
Sullivan said More Joyous had been the best backed shortening from $7.00 to $5.50 in the past 24 hours but punters certainly didn't think the race ended with her.
“Of the horses in the market, there has been really good money for More Joyous, Secret Admirer, Sincero and Hurtle Myrtle,” Sullivan said.
“There has also been money for horse at bigger odds with Wall Street, Monton, Happy Zero and Absolutely all shortening up from odds over $21.”
“Obviously the wet track has played a part with punters looking for value with those with slow and heavy form but it also a sign of just how open this race is.
“The Doncaster is always a fairly open affair but this is one of the most even fields I can remember.”
Sullivan said there had been little money for the one odds on chance on Saturday's Randwick card with Streama very easy at $1.70 in the Oaks.
“We have been sitting top odds Streama all week at $1.70 but at this stage punters have been reluctant to back her,” he said.
“I am sure punters will step in at some stage as she has a clear class edge but she may get out a little more in the market before that happens.”
