Racing and Sports finds the best-backed runners in early betting on Wednesday’s meeting at Sandown.

Eurack (Race 4) is challenging for favouritism at $4.80 having tightened more than seven points since betting commenced. She made the perfect start to her career when winning at Bendigo by a handy margin and there is confidence she can take the next step up.

The Willybe (Race 8) has been backed into equal favouritism at $3.50, more than two points shorter than his opening quote. He may have found it a bit far last time but his previous form was strong so could bounce back.

Lightly raced Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott-trained threeyear-old Scholarly followed his win in a Maiden (1700m) at Warrnambool on 25 June at his fourth race start with another good win here. He again went to the front, travelling comfortably, was challenged rounding the home turn and again at the 200m but kept lifting gamely under pressure, proving too good in the closing stages to win nicely, running the 1800m out well. He looks suited to further still and is a promising young stayer.
