Scone Cup (Listed, 1600m) winner in 2017 and runner-up in the same race two weeks back, Irish-bred Duca Valentinois scored stakes win three and his seventh career win easily. Under Glyn Schofield he began well but Schofield was in no hurry to search for the lead and dropped him back to fourth last (rails) remaining there to the end of the back straight. Edging a shade closer he found room three off the fence at the 400m and turned in four wide with a great view. Taking over at the 200m he then put them away, broke clear and had the race well under control at the 100m for an easy length and a half win. A nice effort from Sheiswhatsheis who led them to the straight, was caught by the winner at the 200m but kept fighting to the line for a good second. Coldstone tracked the leader to the straight, ducked through along the inner and ran on well for third from Red Excitement who went up to the leader at the 300m but could only battle away to hold fourth.
