John Thompson-trained gelding Dreamforce took his record to nine wins (with seven placings) n 21 starts in winning here, his second success at stakes level. He showed good pace to cross from a wide barrier (11) to lead, was then pressured in front but fought back very gamely to score a very good win. Widgee Turf raced back in eighth place, put in his bid on passing the 400m, challenged at the 100m and battled well for a good second. Perast settled fourth place, one out and out back, moved up on turning for home and kept battling on nicely to take the minor placing. The favourite Mr Sneaky raced in eighth place, on the rails, got through to third at the 200m and then battled on for fourth, beaten just over a length. Dollar For Dollar raced outside the leader (Dreamforce), challenged in the straight and then held on well for (1.4 lengths) fifth with So Si Bon finishing (1.6 lengths) sixth after enduring a restricted passage in the closing stages.
