We've landed on a couple of best bets for Doomben this Saturday with two Sydney-based gallopers hoping to cross the border and get the spoils.

Our main play comes up in race six with the John O'Shea and Tom Charlton-conditioned Countyourblessings looking to make it three wins on the bounce this time in work. This daughter of I Am Invincible didn't fire in the Group 3 PJ Bell on a shifting surface before the spell, but has since posted back-to-back victories at Canterbury to start this preparation.

This four-year-old mare looks very well placed up north and gets in near the minimum with Collis' 3kg claim. She has been hitting the line with gusto over the Canterbury 1250m so the extra half-furlong here shouldn't pose an issue. It's not an overly large line-up so she will hopefully be able to sit mid-field and prove too strong at the finish.

The babies kick us off in opener where our next best lines up from the Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott camp. Crown The King is up and going early for the stable notorious for training two-year-olds and they've opted to head north to try and get an easy kill to start the career.

Showed ability in a recent Randiwick trial and at an each-way quote he should be pushing forward from the outside alley and give a sight.
