RANDWICK – August 28

MORE JOYOUS (Gai Waterhouse): All class. Nothing more needs be said about the way this super mare went about winning her heat over 1200m on th course proper. Sat back sixth six lengths off the pace, peeled out five wide on straightening and was untouched to reel them in and win under a big hold from Nash Rawiller by two lengths. Dare to say she has never gone better.

TORIO'S QUEST (David Pfeiffer): Looks to be in good form for his new stable judging by the way he unleashed a fast 200m sprint between 400m and 200m to come from last and hit lead and then eased to record narrow but impressive win 1000m heat on the course proper.

SHOWPONY EXPRESS (John O'Shea): Continued thorough preparation for a first-up tilt with another strong trial over 1050m, doing it easily to finish second without being extended at any stage.

URBAN GROOVE (Gai Waterhouse): Jumped fast to easily open up lead and was full of running all the way for easy 3.3 lengths win over 1050m. Plenty of natural talent here.

NIGHT LIGHT (John O'Shea): Fast pace early suited this maiden filly as she sprinted home quickly in last 100m to win in good time for the 1050m.

SAVASHA (Freedman/Rogerson): Another maiden who posted fast time taking lead and kept running for easy win over the 1050m.

RAIN AFFAIR (Joseph Pride): Another classy trial win by this top sprinter over 740m. Surprisingly didn’t lead but sat off pace and tracked very wide on turn before doing all he had to without being pressured for soft win.

QUICK PEEK (Anthony Cummings): Led without pressure and always going easily, being held back to rivals to score well over 740m with plenty in hand.

BUGABOO (Grahame Begg): Really took the eye coming from the back and extending in impressive style last 100m when taken widest to finish close second in his 740m maiden heat that he could have won as he had plenty to offer on the line.

CASINO SWOOP (John Thompson): Stylish win by a promising maiden overt 740m. Looked a grade above them sitting three wide and coasting before extending easily to run away and win by 2.5 lengths hard held.

ROSEHILL – August 31

POWER STRUGGLE (Gerald Ryan): Got soft lead and won 1030m heat under no pressure.

PROPER (Turner/Poletti): Took control form the start and opened up with a good turn of foot from the 350mk to win maiden heat over 1030m by a big margin.

AKMAL (Turner/Poletti); Classy mare SATIN SHOES was too sharpo in this 900m heat but liked the way AKMAL worked to the line last 200m. Class mare STREAMA was more comptitive in this trial than her first two weeks ago, indicating improved fitness.

LOHENGRIN (Peter Snowden): Sat on the pace and had a lot to offer finishing a close second to AERONATUCIAL without being put under pressure. Has come up well.

IT GIRL (Chris Waller): Let BOURSE go out to a big lead and worked to line keenly under a big hold for an easy third. She would have troubled tiring winner if asked for more.

FUNDIDO (Chris Waller): Was never threatened from the start by rivals and responded well when called on for an effort last 200m.

WIND BENDER (Chris Waller): Folowed up strong win in first trial with an another good effort as she was not asked for anything serious after being restrained well off the pace. Could have done a lot more.
