Review of horses to follow from Sydney barrier trials at Randwick on September 10 and Warwick Farm on September 14
RANDWICK September 10
MAHISARA (Paul Messara): The further they went the better he went as he cleared out to score by eight lengths over 1050m in fast time. Others didn’t chase but he looked very sharp. Classy types King Gladiator and Elite Falls were given easy times behind him.
COMBAT KITTY (Matt Smith): Settled at the rear before unleashing sharp sprint from 300m to win her 1050m heat. Famous Seamus went as good as the winner finishing second in a strong trial.
HURTLE MYRTLE (Matt Smith): Sprinted from off the pace and too classy for her rivals in 1050m heat indicated she is coming up well. Liked the effort of Appearance having an easy time back in the pack.
ZUZICHKA (John O'Shea): Railed on turn from third and opened up off slow first sectional with a good turn of foot to win easily. Time was slow but has promise.
TEMPO MAN (John O'Shea): Tracked wide all the way but pulled his way to the front and had them well covered in his 1050m heat. Tinsley Green stretched out well running on late.
SOUTHERN ALLIANCE (Bart Cummings): No slacking in this as they ran fastest time by of all 1050m heats by 1.3 seconds. Rounded up runaway leader in good style for soft win.
JAYKAY (Bede Murray); Won the first of three 2YO heats over 738m. Very professional and plenty of natural speed.
MR JACKMAN (Gai Waterhouse): Fastets of the three 2YO heat winners. Led and responded well when put under pressure.
SUGAR RUSH (Gai Waterhouse): Slowest of the 2YO winners but the one that impressed as he sat behind a wall of leaders and then accelerated like a smart horse when split came between them in straight.
Eased down on line.RENEWED VITALITY (John Thompson): Fastest of the heat winners over 738m, letting down nicely from off the pace against some smart types. Good trials from Quick Peek and Destruction while Red Tracer was asked for no effort sitting back at the rear.
ALTAR (Peter Snowden): Strong to the line after sitting second outside leader. Secluded also hit line nicely for thjird after sitting wide.
FIELD MARSHALL (Gai Waterhouse): Led and extended well for easy win over 738m.
WARWICK FARM September 14
MANAWANUI (Ron Leemon): Better effort from class act to finish second to McClintock in good 800m heat ran at genuine pace.
TORIO'S QUEST (David Pfeiffer): Another good trial win beating boom colt All To Hard over 1200m. He's now had three trials for two wins and should be ready when produced.
TOFFLER (Joseph Pride): Ran along easily and had plenty in hand winning his 800m heat.
SCANDALIZE (Joseph Pride): Had won his provincial maiden the previous week and could have won this fast 800m heat after sitting wide under a big hold all the way.
STRATURBO (Gary Portelli): Excellent early speed and kept running under no pressure to win 800m heat easily.
CHESTNUT ROAD (David Pfeiffer): Sat three wide but had plenty in hand getting the better of rivals at finish of another fast 800m heat.
ENTIRELY PLATINUM (Team Hawkes): Sharp; win over 800m, showing excellent natural pace for a son of Pentire.
GOLD BENDER (Mark De Montfort): Wasn't in his 800m heat to win but rider had a job holding him down to finish second and beat others easily. Had plenty to offer.
RUBY LOVE (Clarry Conners): Time for 800m wasn't flash but looked strong circling field on turn from last to round them up for a soft win.
