ROSEHILL SATURDAY

RACE 2 (5) MEDVEDEV: A switch from Melbourne to Sydney for this robust three-year-old brought immediate results when he proved a class above his rivals in a BM68 over 1900m at Canterbury 10 days ago, not surprising as he was dropping sharply in class from some unlucky efforts in open class races for his age group down south. He had no trouble running out the trip under 59kg on a slow track and expect he can only be better for his first Sydney experience. Stays on the same handicap but that’s no disadvantage as the majority of his rivals are facing sharp increases under the set weights conditions.

RACE 3 (7) IGGI POP: Picked up his third win from only 12 starts when he grabbed a narrow win over 1500m at this course on June 1 when making only his second appearance off a spell. While he faces a rise in weight he stays in the same class and can only be fitter and appreciative of the step up to 1900m after showing good staying talent up to 2400m when last in work. The bonus is Nash Rawiller – he boasts a perfect score from his only ride on the gelding and expect him to respond well to the big riding switch from an apprentice to the strength of the senior jockey.

RACE 9 (7) COUP AY TEE: Not easy sorting out the best value among six Chris Waller acceptors but confident this fit and honest gelding will perform up to his best on the favourable heavy track. He backed up a strong 1400m win at Randwick with a game second over the same course and distance on June 8 and only has to hold that form on his home track where he boasts an outstanding record of consistency to again be in the finish. Goes well for Jason Collett and wide draw by the end of the day should be favourable.
