Early mail and Blackbook Update for July 2.
ROSEHILL SATURDAY
RACE 7 (2) SNIPPETS LAND: Returns to Sydney from a strong Brisbane campaign and finds himself in a very suitable race that is grades below what he has contested recently. Followed a close second to Coolring in the Prime Minister’s Cup (1400m) at the Gold Coast with a big win the G3 BRC Sprint over 1350m at Doomben then was a victim of both the poor track conditions and bad luck in running when sixth in the G2 QTC Cup over 1300m at Eagle Farm. Certain to play a big hand in this company.RACE 8 (9) MAGIC OF DREAMS: Didn’t have much go right for her through her autumn campaign in good form races and was again luckless when she had her first start in seven weeks when second to Butterboom over 1200m at this course on June 18 after tracking three and four wide from the start. Most of that field lines up again here and while there were a number of eye catching efforts in that race she rates well to make the necessary improvement off her last effort.
RACE 9 (11) THURSTON: Coming back in distance may not look to be the ideal program but closer analysis shows the majority of his best form is over distances from 1350m to 1600m. He comes into this third-up after two bottling efforts since joining the Waller stable over 1400m and 1800m at Randwick and Rosehill and will only need a fair run through this field from the 400m to figure in the finish. Waller may still be working him out but this looks the right time to support him as he is well placed in this class for a horse with black type form.BLACKBOOK UPDATE
