Selections and best bets from Chris Scholtz for the Rosehill and Caulfield meetings on March 16 plus eligible Trial Watch and Blackbook runners.
CAULFIELD March 16
RACE 3: (9) White Bear
RACE 4: (2) General Beau
RACE 7: (11) Peace Treaty
RACE 10: (11) Maharba (EW)
ROSEHILL March 16
Best Bets
RACE 3 - (3) FLY FLY: – Progressive filly improved off her debut fourth when she endured a tough run but found the line best for second to the classy Manaal in the Sweet Embrace at Randwick. Gets a kinder run this time from a better draw. Nice timing about her prep for her home track debut where she is unbeaten in trials.
RACE 7 - (12) MAKARENA: Fillies have won seven of the last nine editions of the Phar Lap Stakes and this class act is primed to add her name to the list after two excellent performances since resuming. Followed her fine first-up second against the colts in the Eskimo Prince (she beat home Celestial Legend, Tom Kitten, Encap etc.) with a sound fifth against the best fillies in the G1 Surround Stakes when she never got cover, the first time she has missed a place in five starts. Expect a big rebound under the favourable set weights.
RACE 9: (11) GLORY DAZE: Irish import has been kept fresh since a dominant Randwick win over 1600m under 61kg on January 27 that stamped him a lightweight Doncaster contender. He was Group placed in Ireland and profiles as a big improver dropping 8kg off his latest win, his third from six starts since landing in Australia.

Why They Can Win….
RACE 1: (8) SUPER BRIGHT - Strong 1100m win at Warwick Farm before luckless over same trip this class at Randwick. Hard to hold out over 1200m.
RACE 2: (12) SUNLORD - Beat Wymark in his maiden win two back before strong Canterbury second. Progressive 3YO with the weights in his favour.
RACE 4: (6) DUVANA - Impressed finding the line behind the top colts in his first two starts. Ready to peak.
RACE 5: (2) LINDERMANN – Perfect home track record including last year's G1 Guineas. Default selection as he gets on pace favours in a slow race.
RACE 6: (4) RED CARD - Classy win first-up and backed it up with a soft trial win. Drawn to add to her unbeaten course and distance record.
RACE 8: (16) JENNILALA - G1-placed mare rates highly with only 51kg off her fast last start win under big weight. Best value in an open race.
RACE 10: (7) TAVI TIME - Building impressive record winning by big margins. Rates to win again off his easy first-up kill.

TRIAL POINTERS
HAWKESBURY March 11: RED CARD is getting better with maturity with a dominant win in her 1000m heat 58.26; 32.53) showing she has gone ahead since her excellent first-up win at Rosehill. Led with ease and never out of second gear.
WYONG March 4: Local filly JAMAKIN MONEY added to her reputation as a trial star with another fast heat win over 845m (50.18; 34.03) in her first appearance since a similar performance in September. She raced once 12 months ago and has had obvious problems but she will certainly win a maiden when she returns to racing. Talented city winner ATTRACTABLE was too classy for his rivals in his heat.
ROSEHILL March 1: Smart heat winners over 900m included stablemate AGENDA SETTER (55.43; 34.97) and FLYING CRAZY (54.72; 34.33).
WYONG September 18: Lightly raced maiden JAMAKIN MONEY was impressive clocking the fastest 845m heat win (50.05; 33.85).
WYONG July 10: In the shorter 845m heats a dominant win by the unraced DIVINE BENE (51.08; 34.90) augers well for her debut.
