Chris Scholtz reviews Sydney barrier trials at Randwick on November 1 and Rosehill on November 4.
ROSEHILL November 4
Inside Grass; Good 4
13 Heats – 4 x 1030m (2 Open; 2 C1/Maiden); 9 x 900m (2 Open; 2 2YO; 5 Maiden)
Looking forward to the return of a promising sprinter in the Godolphin team.
KERGUELEN (James Cummings): Lightly raced Lonhro 4YO has loads of potential after showing plenty in his first four starts for two wins and two placings. This was his second trial since July and like his first he could have easily won his 1030m heat (61.98; 34.80) if called on for a serious effort. Travelled easily behind the lead group before easing to the outside and working well within himself to run the winner ANG POW to a close margin at the finish, going through the line under a big hold.
Other strong 1030m heat winners included the talented NAVY BLOOD (61.59; 34.22) and the maiden UNLEESHING (62.90; 35.09).
2YO Farnan colt KING OF POP (ex Za Zi Ba) was impressive at today's Rosehill trials, winning Heat 8 comfortably. He was an $800k buy @mmsnippets for trainers Gerald Ryan & Sterling Alexiou from @NorthBloodstock's inaugural yearling draft.

RANDWICK November 1
Kensington- Soft 5
10 Heats – 2 x 1250m (1 Open; 1 Maiden); 8 x 850m (2 Open; 2 2YO; 4 Maiden)
Nice efforts from a promising 2YO and an unraced maiden.
BURJ (Peter Snowden): This unraced Pride Of Dubai filly was noted in her first trial last season and confirmed her potential with another promising effort in this 850m heat (50.59; 33.69). Made good ground under a quiet ride to finish a closing second, running through the line with plenty in reserve. Nice maiden prospect.
O' OLE (Bjorn Baker): Lovely piece of work from this 2YO filly who was second in the Gimcrack Stakes at Randwick on debut. Eased back under a hold from a wide gate and worked into it easily from the 300m, peeling to the outside and easily picking up the leaders for a soft win in her 850m heat (50.15; 33.64).
