Coolmore digs deep for dam of National Weanling Sale star.

Single Blonde being in-foal to Wootton Bassett meant she had automatic appeal to Coolmore, the fact she produced the filly who topped the weanling sale earlier in the week made her irresistible.

The global racing and breeding giant's Australian boss Tom Magnier went to $1.2 million for the Not A Single Doubt mare, who is in-foal to Coolmore's star stallion Wootton Bassett.

It was a package that was too good to pass up for Coolmore, which has been one of the biggest players of the week on the Gold Coast.

"We all saw the I Am Invincible filly top the sale here last week, she was a highly-rated filly, so you can bid on them with confidence knowing that they can produce commercial types in the sale ring," Coolmore's Tom Moore said.

"Obviously the fact that she is in-foal to Wootton Bassett is a big plus for us. We can take her home, foal her down and if she has a nice Wootton Bassett it is very easy to go back to him.

"Or, we can take her to Home Affairs and breed a three-quarter to the $800,000 filly that sold earlier in the week."

Single Blonde, who was offered as part of the Element Hill dispersal draft, is out of the Unbridled's Song mare Regrowth, who is a half-sister to the dam of Golden Slipper winner Forensics.

The I Am Invincible filly was her second foal with her first foal an unnamed filly by Pierro who sold for $165,000 at last year's Inglis Easter Yearling Sale.

Single Blonde was the fourth seven-figure purchase of the National Broodmare Sale for Coolmore, which also paid $3.5m for Lady Of Camelot's half-sister Platinum Jubilee, $2.7m for Thousand Guineas winner Madame Pommery and $1.4m for Justify filly Legacies.
