Last year’s Golden Slipper winner to stand for same initial fee as Pierro.
Stay Inside will this year stand for the equal highest first-season fee for a Golden Slipper winner after Newgate announced his introductory fee on Tuesday morning.
Last year's Golden Slipper winner, who is by Extreme Choice, will stand for $77,000.
That is the same figure Coolmore charged for Sydney 2YO Triple Crown winner Pierro when he retired in 2013.
The next highest for a Slipper winner was Sepoy's $66,000 in 2012, while the three colts who preceded Stay Inside – Farnan, Capitalist and Vancouver – all stood for $55,000 in their first year.
The fee puts Stay Inside in rare air, but Newgate managing director Henry Field said it was a warranted for a colt who has already been in high demand.
"Stay Inside is a very rare item, being a Golden Slipper-winning son of Extreme Choice," Field said.
"We will support him with some of our best mares, the shareholders have an extraordinary band of broodmares from all over the world and in the two months since we announced he would be retiring we've had many people let us know they want to acquire his services.
"In my opinion, we haven't retired a horse to stud with better credentials than Stay Inside."
Stay Inside is one of four confirmed additions to the Newgate roster for 2022 with Profiteer and Tiger Of Malay to each stand for $16,500.
Moir Stakes winner Wild Ruler will have his fee confirmed in coming weeks.
They join Capitalist, Deep Field, Extreme Choice and Russian Revolution among those on the Newgate roster.
