Newgate Farm announce 2023 stud fees

Russian Revolution up, Capitalist down and Extreme Choice solid, that's the upshot of Newgate Farm's stallion fees, which were finalised on Wednesday.

The Hunter Valley farm, which in recent weeks have announced the fees for newcomers State Of Rest ($44,000), In The Congo ($33,000) and Artorius ($27,500), finalised the fees for the existing members of their team with Extreme Choice heading the list at $275,000.

Russian Revolution will now be the second most expensive on the roster at $88,000, which is a leap of $16,500 on his 2022 fee.

Russian Revolution, a son of Snitzel, stood his first two seasons at $55,000, was lowered to $44,000 in the Covid-impacted years of 2020/21 before jumping to $71,500 last year after his coronation as Champion First Season Sire.

He replaces Deep Field on the $88,000 with that stallion retired after fertility issues, while Capitalist (Written Tycoon) has had his fee dropped from $99,000 to $77,000, which is the same charge for Golden Slipper winner Stay Inside (Extreme Choice), who also stood for $77,000 in 2022.

Wild Ruler ($38,000), Brutal ($22,000), North Pacific ($22,000), Profiteer ($16,500), Tiger Of Malay ($16,500), Tassort ($11,000) and Cosmic Force ($11,000) all remain unchanged from their 2022 fees.
