Two horses sell for more than $500,000 at Inglis Sale.
Boogie Dancer will be given one more preparation to add to her Black Type record after finding a new home through the Inglis Digital September (Late) Sale, which ended on Wednesday.
The daughter of Sooboog topped the sale when sold to Kelly Skillecorn on behalf of Bi-Lo Bloodstock for $560,000.
Last year's Group 2 Thousand Guineas Prelude winner has disappointed in two runs this campaign for Peter Moody and Katherine Coleman, but Skillecorn said she would now be given a good break before being directed towards next year's Brisbane Winter Carnival.
"She'll go to the paddock for six months now then be set for the Queensland carnival in May and June next year and all going right between now and then, that would culminate in the Tatt's Tiara,'' Skillecorn said.
"And then she's off to Ole Kirk. Ultimately we bought her for Ole Kirk, a Group 1 win between now and then would just be the perfect finale for her.''
Boogie Dancer marginally earned the honour as the top lot of the sale, pipping Monte Invincible, who sold for $540,000.
Monte Invincible, a half-sister to Shooting To Win and Deep Field, was bought by Jackson Biers in conjunction with his parents Ted and Sandra of Glenbawn Stud with a view to visiting Golden Slipper winner Stay Inside.
"With my job at Newgate I get to see a lot of the stock and Stay Inside's foals are outstanding so we wanted to buy some nice mares to go to him,'' Beirs said.
"She cost plenty of money but she's a beautiful filly with one of the most sought after pedigrees in the book and a family that's hard to get into so we were prepared to have a good go at her."
Boogie Dancer and Monte Invincible become the 27th and 28th horses to sell for $500,000 or more on Inglis Digital since its inception.
They weren't the only good results with Group 2 winner Expat getting to $320,000 before being knocked down to Newgate Bloodstock.
"We're delighted to be able to buy her, she's a beautiful mare, a very talented Group 2 winner with great genetics being a granddaughter of Galileo and Dubawi," Newgate's Henry Field said.
"She's straight off to our Inglis Easter graduate In The Congo, the exciting Golden Rose-winning first season stallion and we're hugely excited by the mating.''
The Inglis Digital September (Late) Sale grossed $3,591,000 and entries are now open for the October (Early) Sale, which commences on Friday week, October 6.
