Group 2 Seradess has been retired and will be the subject of a Magic Millions virtual sale next week.

The Mark and Levi Kavanagh-trained mare will be offered an elite breeding prospect after the curtain was drawn on her racing career following last Saturday's Group 3 Northwood Plume Stakes (1200m) at Caulfield.

That was the last of 19 starts for the daughter of Astern, including the Group 2 Tobin Bronze Stakes (1200m) at Morphettville and two Group 3 successes.

"Seradess was a classy yearling, a must buy in Adelaide, and she gave her connections many thrills across her racing career," Mark Kavanagh, who paid $50,000 for Seradess at the 2020 Adelaide Magic Millions Yearling Sale, said.

"She will let down to be a magnificent broodmare and I can't wait to see her progeny in the future."

Seradess's final start was carried out alongside her older half-sister Rose Quartz, who like Seradess is out of the Hidden Dragon mare Obsidian Dragon.

Rose Quartz finished second in that event, her second Group 3 placing of the year, having finished runner-up in the Standish Handicap in January.

Seradess will become the second Group winner offered by Magic Millions this month, after Sheeza Belter sold for $1.35 million last week, with the virtual auction to be conducted live by Magic Millions auctioneer Clint Donovan from 4pm AEST next Thursday, October 26.
