A new mark was set for the highest-priced yearling sold in Adelaide.
Lloyd Kennewell and Matt Becker teamed up to set a new record for the highest amount paid for a filly at the Adelaide Magic Millions Yearling Sale on Monday's first day of the 2024 offering.
The powerful combination went to $400,000 for the Baramul Stud-prepared filly who hails from the family of Golden Slipper winner Polar Success.
The only I Am Invincible in the sale, the filly is out of the Redoute's Choice mare Les Amoureux, who is a half-sister to Group 2 Queensland Guineas winners Sambro.
Les Amoureux and Sambro are both from the Encosta De Lago mare Eau De Joie, who is a half-sister to Polar Success, winner of the 2003 Golden Slipper.
The filly was bought for WA owner Santo Guagliardo and Kennewell said she was a horse who could have excelled in any sale.
"She just looks so sharp and early-going and has got a really good brain on her," he said.
"It was the one I really, really wanted for Santo this year. Out of all horses at any sale I said, 'this is the one we've got to be taking home'.
"Easter's around the corner and there's going to be some nice fillies (there), but I just felt this fitted his criteria.
"She's a first foal, just got a really good mannerism about her, so we're very, very happy to be taking her home."
"I think that deserved of her money to be honest."
The $400,000 filly claimed the record from the Dundeel filly that topped the 2022 sale, when sold for $375,000.
The Cranbourne-bound filly, who went through around two hours into the sale, was one of several good early results at the two-day sale.
Balcrest Stud had a colt by Toronado sell for $225,000, while two lots before the $400,000 filly, Mike and Paul Moroney, in partnership with Catheryne Bruggeman, paid $200,000 for a colt by The Autumn Sun.
