Breeders flock to son of Thorn Park after best season.
After a breakout 2019/2020 season, Waikato Stud have announced Ocean Park's (Thorn Park) book for the upcoming breeding season is full.
The Cox Plate (Gr 1, 2040m) winner served 153 mares in 2019 and had been available for a service fee of NZ$20,000 (plus GST) for the upcoming breeding season.
Ocean Park was represented by seven individual black-type winners last season, while and his progeny amassed a total of more than NZ$11 million. He finished 12th on the Australian sires' premiership.
His stakes performers were headed by All Aged Stakes (Gr 1, 1400m) Tofane and Kolding, who took out the Epsom Handicap (Gr 1, 1600m).
Ocean Park's other stakes winners were Group 2 winner Oceanex, Group 3-winning trio Another Dollar, Star Of The Seas and Out Of The Park, while the septet was completed by Listed winner Pretty To Sea.
Ocean Park is on the cusp of his eighth year at Waikato Stud, where he will stand alongside Savabeel (Zabeel) (NZ$100,000 plus GST), newcomer Super Seth (Dundeel) (NZ$35,000 plus GST), Tivaci (High Chaparral) (NZ$12,500 plus GST) and Ardrossan (Redoute's Choice) (NZ$3,000 + GST).
