Darley has announced the 2021 fees for their ten US-based stallions with former shuttler Medaglia d'Oro (El Prado) heading the roster at US$150,000, down from a fee of US$200,000 in 2020.

First season sire Nyquist (Uncle Mo) is the only stallion who has seen his fee increase and he will stand for US$75,000, up from US$40,000 in 2020. Nyquist's ten juvenile winners are headed by his Grade 1 winners Vequest and Gretzky The Great who are both being aimed at next month's Breeders' Cup meeting.

Northwood Park shuttlers Frosted (Tapit) and Street Boss (Street Cry) will stand for fees of US$25,000 (down from US$40,000) and US$15,000 (down from US$20,000) respectively whilst Astern (Medaglia d'Oro) will stand for US$7,500 (down from US$10,000).

The US roster is completed by Street Sense (Street Cry) (US$60,000 down from US$75,000), Bernardini (A P Indy) (US$35,000 down from US$40,000), Hard Spun (Danzig) (US$35,000 down from US$40,000) and Midshipman (Unbridled's Song) (US$7,500 down from US$8,500). Enticed (Medaglia d'Oro) meanwhile will stand for a fee of US$7,500.

"These are trying times breeders are facing," said Darley Sales Manager Darren Fox. "We gave great consideration to this when setting our fees to reflect the economic reality of today.

"Breeders are attempting to navigate a sales environment that is both unpredictable and difficult. Subsequently, all but one of our stallions will see a decrease in stud fee from last year. We sincerely appreciate the past support from breeders, and we are looking forward to a better and brighter 2021."
