Makybe Diva's owner Tony Santic has cut back his breeding interests with a big reduction of his Makybe stud operation in Victoria.
Santic and his wife Deslee have downsized their stud on the Barwon River in Victoria by selling nearly half of the 3200 acre property.
Their classy young stallion Purrealist will be transferred and Street Hero, a shuttle sire standing at Makybe by arrangement with Vinery, will also be relocated.
Santic established Makybe in 2006 and named it honour of his triple Melbourne Cup winning mare.
Group and Listed winners produced by Makybe have included Starspangledbanner, Arapaho Miss, Better Be The One, Exceedingly Good, Musket, Corsaire, Zupacool, King Diamond and Specter.
Santic says he will continue to race a strong team of horses under the Makybe Racing & Breeding banner and sell yearlings at major sales.
"Makybe will be a boutique operation managing our own bloodstock as opposed to commercially offering all services of a stallion farm,” Santic said.
"We will be reducing our broodmare portfolio over the next 12 months but will continue to reinvest in quality bloodstock.”
