The Arqana Breeding Stock Sale in Deauville will run over four days from December 8 to December 11 with a catalogue that includes 622 mares or fillies and 263 foals.
The timing of the sale is ideal for internationally visitors as it immediately follows the Tattersalls Breeding Stock Sale which finishes on December 6.
The biggest names in European breeding will be represented including the Aga Khan, Darley, Shadwell, the Niarchos family, Wertheimer et Frère, Gestüt Schlenderhan, Gestüt Ammerland, Gestüt Fahrhof, Kildaragh, Hawthorn Villa, Chevington, Morristown-Lattin Stud, and the French stud farms Haras d'Etreham, de la Louvière, de la Reboursière, de Meautry, des Capucines, du Mézeray, de la Pérelle, du Quesnay, du Petit Tellier, du Thenney.
Ten lots from the succession of Baron Guy de Rothschild will be presented by Haras de Meautry.
Nearly 60 of the mares and fillies in the catalogue are black type, and as many as 300 are sisters of black-type horses.
These include no fewer than 40 sisters to champions Païta as well as champions like Daliapour, Ashkalani, Peintre Célèbre, Sakhee, Dalakhani, Daylami, Gossamer, Barathea and Group 1 winners like Goldamix, Khalkevi, Shamdala, Laverock, Best of the Bests, Carlotamix, Linda's Lad, Coquerelle, Doctor Dino, Natagora, Dolphin Street, Val Royal, Stormy River and Caitano.
36 mares have already produced black type performers including several Group 1 horses like Vahorimix, Norse Dancer, Clodovil, Diamond Green and Hannouma
Sires represented include Anabaa, A.P. Indy, Cape Cross, Danehill, Danehill Dancer, Dansili, Darshaan, Diesis, Distorted Humor, Dynaformer, Galileo, Giant's Causeway, Gone West, Green Desert, Gulch, Highest Honor, Invincible Spirit, Kingmambo, Linamix, Machiavellian, Monsun, Montjeu, Mr Prospector, Peintre Célèbre, Rahy, Red Ransom, Rock of Gibraltar, Sadler's Wells, Seeking the Gold, Silver Hawk, Thunder Gulch, Unbridled Song, Woodman and Zamindar.
