Syndicator Brad Spicer went back to the source to secure Mr Individual, the talented Starspangledbanner colt who recorded his fourth win in 10 starts at Caulfield on Saturday.

Spicer Thoroughbreds bought and syndicated Starspangledbanner and followed suit with the purchase of Mr Individual for $240,000 at the Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale when he was the most expensive colt from the first Australian crop of foals by his sire.

Mr Individual (Starspangledbanner x She’s Alluring, by Lure) is an eye-catching chestnut reminiscent of his famous sire and is prepared by the same trainers Leon and Troy Corstens.

He was returning to Melbourne racing after a last start fourth in the G3 Sunshine Coast Guineas won by Tivaci.

Starspangledbanner was a brilliant winner of the G1 Caulfield Guineas and G1 Oakleigh Plate in the Spicer Thoroughbred colours before he was sold to Coolmore Stud, going on to win the G1 Golden Jubilee Stakes at Royal Ascot and the G1 July Cup at Newmarket before starting his stud career.

Fertility issues arose in his earlier years at stud but he has now overcome those problems to become one of Coolmore’s most sought after stallions.

Mr Individual, the winner of four of his 10 starts, is among five winners from She’s Alluring including the G1 placed Fast And Sexy.

She’s Alluring comes from the family of champion sire Invincible Spirit and last season’s dual G1 winner Pride Of Dubai.
