The Money Trail – Scone, September 9

3 minute read

Racing and Sports finds the best-backed runners in early betting on Friday’s meeting at Scone.

Zijin Cheng (Race 4) has been heavily supported and is a clear market elect at $2.50 having shortened a full point in early betting. The Bjorn Baker-trained colt rates well in this field off a debut fourth at Hawkesbury and should be fitter for the drop to country grade today.

Chosen Prince (Race 5) is being given a good each way chance at $5 having halved his opening double figure quote. The gelding did a good job to win at this track and distance on debut and while he needs to take another step forward today he is open to natural improvement.

Wing Snipper (Race 6) is a promising sprinter who narrowly failed to complete the hat trick of wins when racing at the provincials last start but looks well place back in country company. He dominates betting at $2.50 having shortened more than a half point since markets opened.

L'Elu (Race 7) proved costly as a beaten favourite last time but punters are keen to recoup their losses with the filly firming to a fixed quote of $2.60 with TopBetta having shortened 30 cents. She was run down last start but had won in strong fashion on debut.
