Under Craig Williams, Exocet bounced away well from the inside and settled a handy sixth on the fence. She drifted a little down the back but kept the leaders in view. The leading group fanned once straightened leaving a lovely gap for the filly and she began to gather them in, caught the leader inside the 50m and edged clear to win narrowly but gamely. Sort After took over the pace at the 1600m, still led turning in and fought hard, just being edged late for a good second. Favourite Have Another Glass was shuffled back from a handy position at the 500m, was blocked then switched to the inner to finish very well for a close third from Miss Dubois, who ran on best of the rest for (2.8 lengths) fourth.
