The lightly raced Super Kenny proved ultra impressive when saluting first up and appears well placed to make it back to back wins at Singapore on Friday night.

Forced to travel wide throughout Super Kenny was entitled to drop off over the concluding stages however he showed great resilience when looming up strongly and kicking clear from his rivals to notch up an impressive win.

A victor of three of his 12 career starts the son of Host proved successful in living up to his good form prior to a spell having not been disgraced behind Stepitup in the Group 3 Singapore Sprint.

Given we have already seen the top end of this current crop of four-year-olds [Zac Spirit, Super Ninetyseven & Stepitup] come out and mix it with their older rivals at the top level it does read very well for Super Kenny moving forward this time in.

While not quite up to their level he still appears well placed against the older horses as his performance last start has have him rated clear on Timeform weight adjusted ratings.

Having proven successful in running up to his career peak last start Super Kenny rates four pounds clear of his nearest rival California Eagle and does appear open to further improvement racing second up.

Given almost three weeks between runs Patrick Shaw elected to step him out in a recent trial and he appears to be ticking along nicely having saluted the judge with ease in the 1000m heat.

Jumping easily the best into stride he travelled wide throughout and coasted to the line under a good hold and did so in quick time.

Barend Vorster continues his association with the four-year-old on Friday night and has placed in more than half of his 11 attempts aboard Super Kenny and has ridden him to all three of his career victories.

From the fair draw expect Vorster to roll forward and settle just off the speed with the Desmond Koh trained Southern Boss and the Clifford Brown trained Sand Lane expected to take up the running and ensure the race is run at a good solid tempo.

Given Super Kenny is still only lightly raced it is clear that he is open to further improvement as he proved successful in returning a career peak performance last start and given he should progress further throughout this preparation he is expected to prove too good for his rivals as he does appear ahead of his mark at this current time.

The David Kok trained California Eagle has been racing in great form this time in and does appear the main threat despite conceding weight to Super Kenny on Friday night.

In ten career starts California Eagle has only missed the money twice collecting five wins along the way and does possess the ratings profile to trouble Super Kenny.

While unable to hold his form last start behind Klever Man his performance on weight adjusted ratings was just four pounds shy of Super Kenny's first up victory and he has shown in the past that he is capable of better.

With Magic Moreira off riding in Hong Kong, Danny Beasley will take over on Friday night and look to continue his solid record with the Kok stable currently striking at 25% for this season.

Drawn favourably on the rails he should be able to roll forward and find a nice spot just off the speed and be well in striking distance upon entering the straight.

The drop back to 1000m and the return to the polytrack should also suit as he was left found wanting over 1200m last start when unable to peg back the leaders in the straight.

With form in the book behind Petrenui and Boundless Glory he is clearly a horse with plenty of ability and is expected to make his presence felt on Friday night.

The Michael Freedman trained Super Good returned with a faire performance behind Bahen last start and does appear open to further improvement racing second up.

While on face value he may have proved disappointing having been beaten as favourite he was coming into the race off a nine week freshen up and was proven to need the run as he raced five kilograms heavier than his regular racing weight.

He will no doubt strip fitter for this and a return to his career peak should definitely see him right in the finish.

Of the rest the Michael Clements trained Secret Mission resumed with an encouraging performance first up when finishing second behind Black Unicorn.

He has since trialled solidly at this track and trip and has drawn to receive all the favours on Friday night.

If able to hold his form he is clearly capable of featuring in the finish.
