Street Allure should be given one more chance to break maiden status when she lines up in the second race at Bendigo on Thursday.
Street Allure contests the Yalumba Maiden Plate (1100m) at Bendigo on Thursday where on disclosed form she rates well on top.
The filly boasts minor placings behind the likes of stakes performers Solicit and Suavito while in two runs back from a spell this campaign, Street Allure has been thereabouts.
Street Allure ran second on resuming at Ararat before finishing fourth second up behind Belle Couture.
The daughter of Street Boss was unlucky not to have won on resuming with jockey error costing her the race.
While no match for Belle Couture, Street Allure should have finished closer however was snookered in on the fence until the 200m.
Overall it has been a frustrating preparation for connections who have given the filly a let up since the Caulfield run.
It has also been frustrating for those who have been following Street Allure.
Now a seven start maiden, even with minimal luck this campaign the filly is running out of chances with follower patience no doubt being tested.
Many immediately rule a line through maiden runners after more than seven starts but perhaps this case is exception to the rule.
Thursday’s Yalumba Maiden Plate appears hers for the taking based on disclosed form.
An inside barrier and the addition on Ben Melham are additional positives along with the return of blinkers.
With the rail out the maximum 9m, expect Melham to make use of the inside draw and have Street Allure settled handy, likely inside the first four.
Ideally it should just be a case of peeling the three-year-old off the heels of the early leaders around the home turn before drawing clear in the straight.
The filly sits nine pounds clear of her nearest rival in this field on 12 month weight adjusted figures while there is a four pound margin to her main danger based on 50 day weight adjusted Timeform ratings.
I’m The Goodes resumed well at this track 20 days ago, settling midfield and working home nicely into second.
The gelding will strip fitter second up and has obviously returned a more mature type than what the Reaan three-year-old was earlier in the season.
His first up run yielded I’m The Goodes a new master Timeform rating of 70 and seeing him build upon that figure here would come as no surprise.
A bold first up showing can also be expected from Rock Of Freedom.
The gelding has been given time to mature since an encouraging maiden preparation where he recorded a pair of minor placings during three starts.
Rock Of Freedom is largely expected to be better over more ground but regardless, profiles as one of the better chances amongst this line up.
Charlemagne’s Girl made an encouraging debut at Warracknabeal which she can build upon while Black Sheep at his first Australian outing is another to keep an eye on.
The Savabeel gelding ran third on debut at Makaraka last spring and while Black Sheep will need to improve on that run, just the fact he has come to Australia suggests he can.
Overall though, the strength of Street Allure’s disclosed form points to her finally shedding maiden status in the Yalumba Maiden Plate (1100m) on Tuesday.
The field includes a number of useful types as well meaning the potential of a decent price going up about the Darren Weir-trained filly isn’t out of the question.
