Go Jennio Ready To Win

3 minute read

Go Jennio can get the day off to a winning start for punters in the Perri Cutten Maiden Plate at Sandown.

The Darren Weir-trained filly is favourite for the opening event at Sandown after being rolled as the market elect on resuming at Yarra Valley.

It is a run worth forgiving though as she was held up for a run around the turn and lacked the necessary acceleration over 1200m.

Go Jennio would have taken valuable race experience and fitness from the run and second up should be posting a substantially improved result in Wednesday’s Perri Cutten Maiden Plate (1300m).

The daughter of O’Reilly possesses some strong form lines from her last campaign and boasts a master Timeform rating of 106 for her solid sixth in the Thousand Guineas behind Amicus last spring.

Such a Timeform rating is 28 pounds clear of her next best performance however outside of the Thousand Guineas, form lines out of a Bendigo maiden the start prior won by Fenway also appears strong.

After the scratchings of Makowsky and Nerissa, Go Jennio faces eight rivals.

She won’t have to settle to far off the lead and from a midfield position, should prove too good.

Fair And Equitable shapes as a main danger following a closing third on debut over this distance at Geelong.

It was a solid performance and the Ken Keys-trained filly will have taken benefit from the run.

Expect Go Jennio and Fair And Equitable to take close account of each other in transit and be attacking the line well late.

Absolute Treasure was rattling home late over 1200m at Moonee Valley last start.

That performance has him rating highly amongst this field and he is another who can be closing well late.

Outside of this trio, the race depth drops off sharply and is arguably shaping as a race in three.

Go Jennio profiles particularly well heading into the event and should be shedding her maiden tag at Sandown on Wednesday.
