Night racing returns to Launceston on Wednesday where Wonzzee appears hard to beat in the fourth event of the program.
The program kicks off at 6.20pm with three straight maidens before the Neil Buckby Subaru Benchmark 82 Handicap (1200m).
It is here Wonzee should return to the winner’s circle.
The mare resumed at Hobart 17 days ago with a respectable third in an 1100m Class 4 Handicap behind Gee Gees Style.
The daughter of Myboycharlie was prominent throughout and stuck to her task well.
She would have taken benefit from the performance which returned the five-year-old a Timeform rating of 77.
That first up effort already has Wonzzee rating clear in this field and with the prospect of further improvement second run from a spell, she appears hard to beat.
From an inside draw, expect Wonzzee to be either leading or outside of the pacesetter.
Unbeaten from two starts at the course and second up, she appears capable of maintaining this perfect record on Wednesday evening.
The eight horse field doesn’t possess much in terms of depth where Our Casanova looks a main danger after winning last start at Devonport.
With nothing on his back after the 3kg claim of Raquel Clark, he comes in nicely at the weights and is worth thought.
Red Eagle resumed with a fourth behind Our Casanova at Devonport ten days ago.
He will strip fitter and while the gelding will appreciate more ground, anticipated improvement second run from a spell has the Delago Brom seven-year-old in the mix.
Better than even money is currently available about Wonzzee and considering how progressive the mare appears, it shapes as the bet of the evening at Launceston on Wednesday.
